About Restaurante Ekilore

If you’re exploring Polanco and want a place that feels both relaxed and thoughtfully put together, Restaurante Ekilore is one of those spots I genuinely enjoy introducing to people. Tucked away on Aristóteles 239A in the heart of Polanco IV Sección, this restaurant has a way of drawing you in without trying too hard. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels welcoming and unpretentious, making it just as suitable for a casual lunch as it is for a long, conversation-filled evening. I like how the space balances comfort with character, especially if you choose outdoor seating and want to soak in the neighborhood vibe while enjoying your meal. The service options are flexible, which is always a plus-whether you’re in the mood to dine in, grab something to go, or simply sit back and let time pass, the place adapts to you. What really stands out to me, though, is how the offerings feel curated yet approachable. You can start with small plates to share, ease into a glass of wine or a well-mixed cocktail, and then maybe switch to beer or spirits depending on how the night unfolds. Coffee is also part of the experience, which makes it easy to linger a little longer, especially during the afternoon hours. Alcohol is available without the atmosphere feeling like a bar, and that balance is something Ekilore does particularly well. I often describe it as a restaurant that understands rhythm-you can keep things light, or you can build your experience slowly, one drink or dish at a time. Because of its location in Miguel Hidalgo and its easygoing personality, Restaurante Ekilore feels like a natural meeting point for locals and visitors alike, a place where good food, good drinks, and an easy sense of flow come together naturally.

Our experience here was outstanding! We had the oysters rasurados and they are a must. We had a paella mixta for two and I simply think is the best we had ever have. They can accommodate classic cocktails even if they are not in the menu. Everyone here is very welcoming but Enrique, our waiter was just above and beyond with attentiveness and on point recommendations.

What a gem! They have a great selection of wines, several varieties of appetizers, main dishes and lots of deserts. Plus, 80% of the menu is naturally gluten-free! I’m celiac, so I had an incredible time there. The food is well priced, we ate in 3 people and spent around MXN 1800 pesos. Waiters are very polite, well informed, happy and resourceful. I really enjoyed the experience. In regard to the food taste, I would say is quite good. However, the desert was definitely the best moment of the night. The “Torta Santiago” was absolutely divine!

If you are in the area, look no further for this is an absolute culinary experience! From the cool presentation, to taste, everything was right on point. The atmosphere is great, lots of open space, ideal for groups or large families. And the staff is friendly and helpful.

One of my favourite Mexico City experiences. The staff were friendly and the food was outstanding! Everything we ordered was an out of body experience: we ordered the black squid ink croquettes, the jamón ibérico bellota, the octopus with squid ink rice and shishito peppers. I couldn’t choose just one fav!

I had the sinfull luxury of dinning twice on my short trip to Mexico City in this superb palace of taste. Chef Pablo San Roman created our menu, surf and turf if you will, a magical experience without a doubt that will be impossible to beat anytime soon. Small comfy minimalist space, but warm and laid back somehow. Let Pablo do his thing, sit back, relax and enjoy thouroughly.

A very Spanish joint in Mexico City. The decor is very basque, cozy and comfortable. The service is mexican in the sense that they treat you like a king without overwhelming you. You’re not finished raising your hand and they are already there for you. I got the oysters “rasurados”, the best I’ve had in years (a very Mexican recipe and not Spanish, but worth trying if you haven’t). The caldo de cola de res or oxtail broth is comfort food at its best. I also recommend the fish soup. The chuletón de vaca vieja is a good option to share with 2 or even 3 if you had enough appetisers. For dessert the tarta santiago is very well made and comes with a deli ice cream. One of the top 3 Spanish restaurants in Polanco if not the best.
